Position: API Engineer

At playlist.com you create, share and manage playlists of music you find on the web. Playlist.com allows you to play your music on any site including Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, hi5 etc.. We are the largest music search engine on the web; ranked in the top 200 US sites, with over 20 million registered users ­ and we're already profitable! Join us in downtown Palo Alto, the heart of Silicon Valley.

We're looking for a top-notch PHP engineer to expand our presence on the major social networking sites. We currently have hugely popular embeddable MySpace flash playlist and Facebook Application. If you are a talented PHP Engineer with an interest in the Facebook and Google's OpenSocial API's, we need you to:
- Improve and extend our existing Facebook application
- Build out our OpenSocial application for the major social networks
- Develop an overall architecture for all of our applications

Some previous experience working with API's is desired, but it you're a talented engineer with a proven track record we'd like to talk with you!

Required Skills:
- Extensive Object-Oriented PHP5 experience – OO MVC framework experience a plus
- 3+ years LAMP experience
- Previous Experience working with XML-RPC and RESTful interfaces
- Experience implementing standards-compliant JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Smarty Template Engine or equivalent system experience.
- Knowledge of latest technical and/or UX trends in high-volume consumer-facing web sites

Nice to have:
- Experience in a high-volume (1MM+ daily page views) social networking site
- Source control experience using CVS or Subversion
- Previous experience at a social networking-focused company
